Jerry Edward Hayes' Obituary
Jerry Edward Hayes, 57, of Proctorville, OH, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at St. Mary's Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born December 27, 1965 in Huntington, WV to the Carol Hayes and the late Big Jerry Hayes. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, David William Hayes; James A. Lawson; good friend, Don Combs; maternal grandparents, Earl & Gertrude Hayes and Bubby & Elizabeth Jones. He leaves behind three children, Gerald (Tisha) Tennant, Stormi (Mikey) Dement and Christopher Carpenter; seven grandchildren, Skyla, Hunter, Mason, Brayden, Shaelin, Krista and Daxton; one sister, Paula Lawson Woycheese; one brother, Michael (Connie) Hayes; four nieces, Chrissy, Felicia, Trish and Angie; two nephews, Darcy and James "J.W." Lawson; two uncles, Den (Maryann) Hayes and James Skip Hayes; one aunt, Reba Crawford and a host of cousins and friends. Jerry was a 1984 Fairland High School graduate. He spent most of his life doing construction. He spent the last four years caring for his mom & dad and picking on the grandkids. Jerry was one of a kind. He loved to make everyone around him laugh. He loved almost everything about the outdoors and he loved taking the grandkids for walks. He will be missed by his loved ones and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Hall Funeral Home & Crematory in Proctorville, OH. Burial will follow at Rome Cemetery.
