Jerry Lee Mayes' Obituary
Jerry Lee Mayes, 75, of Glenwood, WV went on an eternal hunt with the Lord on October 27, 2022. He was born February 17, 1947 to the late Earl Edward Mayes and Mary Ellen Jeffers Mayes. Jerry was retired from ACF after 27 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Alannia "Pepper" Mayes; four daughters: Janice(Andy) Conner, Jessica(Ron) Mayes Kessel, Hannah Mayes and Suzanne(Leia) Mayes; five grandbabies: Logan Conner, Caleb Conner, Levi McKenzie, Lanie Kessel and Julie Kessel along with special son Will (Billie Jean, Sam) Jeffers; one sister Judy Perry; six brothers: Earl Jr., Larry, Kenneth, Timmy, Wayne and Randy Mayes; mother-in-law Betty Smith; aunt Wilma Hagley and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved very much. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by grandmother Maude McKlaskey and two brothers Dean and Roger Mayes. Jerry loved to hunt, fish, and spend countless hours on his farm. He could always be found tending to his chickens or in the barn helping the kids raise their pigs and steer for the fair. Another love was for his faithful dogs, Darcy and Carley, who was always by his side. Jerry loved the Lord and always let his light shine everywhere he went. Jerry always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. Funeral Service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday October 31st, 2022 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory Proctorville, OH by Pastor Mark Mayes. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Smith Mayes Cemetery in Glenwood, WV. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ehallfuneralhome.com
