Jesse P. McCain's Obituary
Jesse P McCain 1949 - 2016
Jesse P. McCain, a resident of Richmond Hill, GA. passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at his home after a brief illness. Jesse was 66.
Jesse was born on December 28, 1949 in Lineville, Alabama, to Jesse Polo and Alma Louise McCain. He grew up in Cedartown, GA and upon his father’s return from the service, the family moved to Symrna, GA where he attended and graduated from F.T. Wills High in 1968.
Jesse was a certified diamontologist and gemologist. He spent his 40+ year career in the jewelry industry, but Jesse had a passion for the sea. While he loved being the “diamond man”, his true self was a sailor who longed to be on a boat at sea.
The Sailor’s 23rd Psalm
The Lord is my pilot, I shall not go adrift;
He lighteth my passage across dark channels;
He steereth me through the deep waters,
He keepeth my log.
He guideth me by the evening star for my safety's sake.
Yea, though I sail mid the thunders and tempests of life,
I shall fear no peril, for Thou art with me,
Thy stars and heavens, they comfort me.
The vastness of thy sea upholds me.
Surely fair winds and safe harbors shall be found
All the days of my life;
And I shall moor, fast and secure, forever.
Amen
