Jimmie Adkins' Obituary
Jimmie Adkins, 64, of Chesapeake, Ohio died at home on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. He was born October 10, 1959, in Pikeville, KY. He was preceded in death by mother, Genevieve Adkins, father, Everett Adkins; two brothers, Roger and Eddie Adkins; and one sister, Carrie Dickerson. He is survived by his wife Brenda; sons, Christopher (Colleen) Bennett of Proctorville, Ohio, David P. Adkins of Proctorville, Ohio and Brad (Gara) Adkins of South Point, Ohio; grandchildren, Brooklynn, Mason, Bristol, and Brinley; great grandson, Benny; and sister Katherine Grobe of Huntington, WV. Jimmie previously worked at Don Hall Chevrolet and Yellow Cab. Jimmie was a wonderful man with a big heart and loved his family dearly and "his boys". The Bible says, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." We kept praying and believing he would be healed. We did not see him healed here but we know he is now. He is with his precious mother whom he loved so very much, sister and brothers. Jimmie can never be replaced. We want to thank Dr. Pathak, a special nurse Leigh at KDMC, all the medical staff and Hospice caregivers. A special thank you to Jim Crum, a neighbor and porch buddy, to Jimmie. He would come over and pick him up out of the floor when he would fall. He would also check on him when Brenda had to work numerous times of the day and sat with us as he was leaving. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2024, with Pastor Harold Hamlin and Pastor Walter Wood officiating at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Miler Memorial Gardens, Miller, Ohio. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday also at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.
