Jimmie M. "Poppy" Legg's Obituary
Jimmie M. “Poppy” Legg, 90, of Proctorville, OH, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025. Born on October 2, 1934, in Chesapeake, OH, he was the son of the late Morris and Gladys Legg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Hilda Legg Perkins, Jean Legg Zornes, Wanda Legg, and Leon Legg. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Peggy Legg; daughter, Patricia (Carlos) Marcum; son, Jamie (Rachel) Legg; special niece, Erin (Jeramey) Bair and their children, Lyric, Brody, and Abram, and numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends that cherish his memory. Poppy was a faithful member of Defender Chapel. He loved to garden, watch NASCAR races, and watch Ohio State football games. He was a graduate of Chesapeake High School class of 1952. Poppy served in the U.S. Army, 4th Armored Division. He retired from Novamont/Aristech after 38 years. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Heritage Center for their loving care. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH, with Pastor Bill Flannery, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Rome Cemetery in Proctorville, OH. Condolences may be expressed to the family at ehallfuneralhome.com
