Jimmy E. Barker of Chesapeake, OH, formerly of West Liberty, KY, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017, at his residence, at the age of 78 years, 3 months, & 27 days. He was born Saturday, October 29, 1938 at Grear, KY, son of the late Bronson & Hattie Perry Barker. Jimmy was united in marriage to Frances Stacy. This union was blessed with two sons, Greg & Jon. He was a retired farmer, a Christian, and a former member of the Centerville Community Church. In addition to his parents, Bronson & Hattie Barker, he was preceded in death by one son, Gregory E. Barker; one sister, Faye Stottlemyer; and five brothers, Julian, Ancil, Hershell, Stanley, and Curtis Barker. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Frances Stacy Barker; one son, Jon & Teffaney Johnston Barker of Chesapeake, OH; four grandchildren, Gregory Alek Barker, Bronson Kyle Barker, Devin Michael Barker, and Jon-Cooper Wray Barker; one brother, Jerry Paul & Violet Barker of West Liberty, KY; two sisters, Lenora Gay & Donnie DeBorde and Treva & Gordon King all of West Liberty, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral Service 12 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Harry Flannery officiating. Burial to follow in the Grassy Lick Cemetery, Grassy Creek, KY. Visitation from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the funeral home. Pallbearers: Alek Barker, Bronson Barker, Tyler Carpenter, Dana Nichols, Mark Ross, and Chad Salls. Honorary Pallbearers: Dave Blair, Jerry Shockley, Ron Phillips, Ronnie Shockley, Shawn Shockley, and Entire Bent Creek Prayer Group.
