Joan Cassie Salmons' Obituary
Joann "Kitty" Salmons, 78, of Chesapeake, Ohio, passed away Saturday August 24, 2024 at Legacy Riverview, South Point, Ohio. She was born February 14, 1946 in Berwind, WV to the late Clyde and Gertrude Stewart Davis. She was an ordained minister, a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. But what she was, most importantly, was a kind human. Her lifelong love of Christ, and the church never stopped her from loving everyone. She and her husband Johnny traveled around to preach and sing at churches. She made things, crocheted them. Little slippers, moccasins, dolls, afghans, lots of stuff. Things you wish you hadn't grown out of and got rid of a long time ago.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie Salmons; son Clyde Anthony Salmons; brothers Harold Davis and Donald Davis; and sister Judy Hysell. She is survived by three grandchildren Brenda Petrozelli and two others; daughter-in-law Jackie Salmons; sister Charlsie McQuirt of Indiana; two brothers Charlie Davis of TN and John (Terri) Davis of Huntington, WV; special niece Angie Davis; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and two special friends Willy Walters and Donna Rice-Wassell. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday August 31, 2024 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Eddie Salmons. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens Miller, Ohio. Visitation will be held 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday August 31, 2024 at the funeral home.
