Joe McKenzie's Obituary
Joe Mckenzie, of South Point, OH, passed this week at home surrounded by his wife, Bonnie and his son, Michael. He was 79 years old. He was married to his loving wife, Bonnie Lou Salyers for 49 years and had one son together, Michael Joseph McKenzie.
Joe was born in Ironton, OH, to his late parents, Joseph McKenzie Sr. and Mary Adkins McKenzie. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandmother, Rosalee; many aunts, uncles, cousins and his little angel, Bella. In addition to his wife, Bonnie, he is survived by one brother, Vonnie McKenzie and his wife, Anne McKenzie of Lady Lake, FL; his daughters, Veronica Armstrong of Ironton, OH, daughter, Sonya Ingurgio of Phoenix, AZ, and a son, Joseph Powers of Aurora, CO. He is also survived by many in-laws, cousins, and other loving family and friends.
Joe grew up in Lawrence County, OH, attending Rock Hill High School. He also attended DeVry University in Chicago, IL. He worked in the automotive industry his entire life. He was a racecar driver and owned a trucking company, a car dealership, and then in later years, was a buyer and seller for other automobile establishments.
He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. While on the other hand having a real love for them and their humane treatment. He was a good friend, he was a great son, great brother, good in-law, great father and a wonderful husband. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

Honesty til' the end. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home in Chesapeake, OH.
