Joe Franklin Montroso's Obituary
Joe Franklin Montroso, 81 of Proctorville, Ohio went to rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 24, 2024, at The Hospice House of Huntington. He was a graduate of Marshall University where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Marketing. In his young years, he served two years in the US Navy. He was an unpublished author of many short children's stories and loved his flea market days. In addition, he loved trading comic books and baseball cards. Most importantly, he was passionate about his faith in God. He was preceded in death by his precious Mother, Lena Gollie West and Father, Frank Montroso and brother, Danny West of Florida, sister-in-law, Linda Montroso; and his second wife, Patricia Ashby. His surviving family include daughters; Angie Montroso & Mike Brewer, Jodi Montroso Fields & John Fields, Gina Montroso-Estep & Ron Estep, Grandchildren; Justin Walsh, Drew & Mia Fields, Sophia & JT Morrison. Surviving siblings are brothers, Jimmy Montroso, Greg (Shayla) West and sisters, Wanda West & Micki Hargis, nieces Lena Montroso, Sarah Blankenship, Frankie Montroso, Shelley Fillyaw, Beth Pettice, Amber Lavender & Amanda Hamon; and his first wife and friend, Nancy Roberts. A very special thank you to Debbie Carter and Ruth Nance for their unwavering empathy and care over the past 4 years. Additional special thank you to some St Mary's Home Health staff of Proctorville; Jennifer Smith Blatt (PT) and Missy Basenback (Nursing). He loved and appreciated all of you. A Memorial will be held at a later date. The family would like any donations to be made to the Hershel Woody Williams VA Medical Center of Huntington to support our local Veterans.
