John "Dick" Richard Balmer's Obituary
John Richard "Dick" Balmer, 91 of Ironton, Ohio went to be with his Heavenly Father on November 16, 2023, at his home. He was born February 02,1932 in Bluffton, Ohio to the late John Jared Balmer and Lula Mae (Drye) Balmer. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Harry Allen Balmer. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Rose Mary Balmer of Ironton, Ohio; 5 children: John (Joy) Balmer of Midland, North Carolina, Teresa Brown and Special Friend Sue Taylor of Kitts Hill, Ohio, Velda Balmer of Chester, Virginia, Michael (Lisa) Balmer of Independence, Kentucky, Pamela Aldridge (Robert) Nance of Ironton, Ohio; 10 Grandchildren: Krystal Balmer, Tiffany Springer, Cassaundra Gray, Cara Hern, Miranda Pauley, Brittany Capps, Jonathan Balmer, Eric Balmer, R.J. Niemer, Ryan Niemer; 18 Great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Thomas (Judith) Balmer of Pedro, Ohio and James (Jackie) Balmer of Welsh, Louisiana. Funeral services will be conducted on November 20, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Tom Ross. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm immediately preceding the funeral service. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Promedica Heartland Hospice, 205North Street, Lucasville, Ohio or to the American Heart Association.
