John Joseph Fry December 27, 1944 – June 3, 2026
John Joseph Fry, 81, of Huntington, WV, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at The Wyngate Rivers Edge in Proctorville, Ohio. He was born December 27, 1944, in Huntington, WV, a son of the late James Ezra Fry Sr. and the late Garnet Delores Ellis Fry. Retired from American Car Factory and the United States Army Reserves. Vietnam Veteran.
He was preceded in death by eight siblings: James (Buck) E. Fry, Manford (Boozie) Fry, William (Bill) Fry, Virginia (Ginny) Fry Riggs Rickman, Patricia Fry Ross, Ruby Fry Rickman, Lyndal Fry Talbott, and Reda Jean Fry Adkins.
John is survived by his three daughters, Angie (Scott) Evans, Pamela (Ted) Keesee, and Tara Fry; a bonus daughter, Leigh Anna Sizemore; seven grandchildren, Devin (Carolina) McIlvain, Molly McIlvain, Scottie Evans, Maxin Fry Fernandez, Bella Fry Fernandez, Olivia Paula (Kirk) and Dalton Fry; and his special friend, Tonya who was his rock until the end.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in John’s memory to the Huntington Cabell Wayne Animal Shelter or the Wayne County Special Olympics—organizations he cared deeply about supporting. Graveside services will be held at Spring Valley Cemetery on June 8, 2026, at noon.
