John A. Honaker's Obituary
Mr. John Alan Honaker, of Chesapeake, OH, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the age of 82 after battling cancer. John was born to the late John Chilton and Ica May Honaker on October 23, 1937 in Huntington, WV. He grew up the youngest of four boys and graduated from Marshall University. John married Diane Earl Honaker in 1961, and the couple had three children. John worked for 30 years as a mechanical engineer for Armco Steel. After retiring from Armco Steel, he worked for another 12 years as a Project Manager for an engineering firm in the Oil & Gas industry in Charleston, WV. John is survived by his wife, Diane Honaker; his sons, John Jr (Kim) and Daniel (Vanessa); his daughter Christina (Richard) Jenkins. He was proud of his grandchildren: John (Caitlin) Honaker, Benjamin Honaker, Abigail Wray, Adam Honaker, Ezekiel Honaker, Gavin Honaker, Sasha Jenkins, and Corinne Jenkins. He is also survived by his brother Carl Honaker. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Ica May Honaker; and his brothers, Gerald and Clinton Honaker. A private memorial service will be held for the immediate family, no public services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
