Fair winds and following seas, my brother.

I was sad to hear of the passing of John David. As cousins growing up in West Virginia, I have many fond memories of our family gatherings. As with so many families, we grow up and apart. I wish we had kept in touch through the years.

Cindy, Alex, & Morgan,
It breaks my heart to know he's gone. He loved you three more than anything else in the world and it showed!
What I remember most about John was his quick wit, that devilish smile, and his patience with all of us girls bombarding his house all the time. He was a true patriot and an amazing man! Joe and I will always hold him in high regard. We love you all and pray for peace! Never forget the good memories you have with him.

I met John in 2007 and worked with him for many years while he was deployed. He was a great professional, a man who could fix anything with bubble gum and a paper clip. We were all so fortunate to have had an opportunity to know him and learn from him. He always spoke of his family, his daughters, his grandchildren, and of course his wife. My deepest sympathy to you all.

John was a true professional and warrior. I'm proud to have served with him.

John, or as I liked to call him, Starbucks, (he called me Johnny), because he wore a jacket that reminded me of LT Starbucks from the old TV series Battlestar Galactica, was a good friend and teammate of mine from the unit for many years, and after we both retired. He was a true warrior and will be missed by his teammates. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Until we meet once again on the DZ Starbucks, farewell old friend.

John was a true friend, mentor, warrior, and leader. Words cannot convey his impact on so many of us. I was privileged to have been his teammate. We will see you again, brother.

An incredible man and a true warrior. Most will never know what JW did for his country, I hope his family knows how important he was to so many. Prayers and love to Cindy and the family. I love you JW.
