Joseph Gregory Thomas' Obituary
Joseph "Joey" Gregory Thomas, 39, of Huntington, WV, entered into eternal rest Saturday, Dec. 24th, 2022. Joey accepted Christ as a teenager and was baptized in Jesus' name at Life Cathedral. He is blessed to have a large and loving family and friends that have many fond memories of him from Hite Saunders little league, to the farm, G-Maw's at Garden Farms, City Linen and his childhood home in Enslow Boulevard.Joey was an avid outdoorsman and had a great passion for hunting and fishing.He graduated from Huntington High School in 2001 where he played football, baseball and was the WV State runner-up wrestler for two consecutive years. He went on to play collegiate baseball at Coffeyville Junior College in Kansas. He worked several jobs, but ultimately found his niche perfecting his craft as a concrete finisher for the Local union .While he took pride in his work, he was most proud of the love of his life, his daughter, Judith Fay "Ju-Ju" Thomas. He lavished her with love and she returned his affection, being Daddy's little girl. It was beautiful to witness their love for each other.If you knew Joey, you loved Joey. His easy going nature and loving personality was infectious to be around. He always found a way to make you feel special with a smile, hug or a laugh. Uncle Jo-Jo was a big kid who was always eager to jump in to play or wrestle with the kids.Left to cherish his memory is his adoring daughter, Judith Fay Thomas and her brother Christopher and their mother, Felicia; mother, Vicki; father and stepmother, Greg and Denise; siblings, Chris(m. Samantha), Kristana and Mikaela; nieces and nephews Mya, James "JT', Isaac, Aubrey and Christopher; aunts and uncles, TuAna "Toots" (m. Dana), Krista, Ronald "RT"(m. Kim), Rick (m. Nancy), Chick (m. Dixie) and Steve (m. Donna), Rob (m. Lauren) and Laura; step grandparents, Carol Hensley and Barbara Davis "Nana", as well as numerous beloved cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by PawPaw Bo, G-maw, PawPaw Chet, MawMaw Judy, Uncle Craig, Shawn, Alex and Jason. There will be a memorial service held at 4 p.m. on Friday December 30, 2022 at Life Cathedral 350 Staunton Street, Huntington, WV.
