Juanita Rossiter's Obituary
Juanita Rossiter, 84, of Crown City, Ohio went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 surrounded by loved ones after a brief stay at Arbors at Gallipolis, Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born May 30, 1937 in Lawrence County, Ohio. Juanita was the first born to William Bowen and Christine Wade Short but raised and loved by her mother Christine and stepfather Clancy Short, who preceded her in death. She was eldest of eight children. She was married 46 years to Herman Leo Rossiter who preceded her in death on February 9, 2017. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a stepdaughter Barbara Jean Rossiter; siblings Bernard Bowen, Fleeta Greene, Paul Short and Clancy "Bub" Short. She is survived by two daughters Vera (Grady) Johnson and Anita Rossiter; three grandchildren, Rachel (Devin) Kirby, Olivia Johnson (fiancé Caden Wilt) and Natalie Johnson; the apple of her eye, her great granddaughter, Faith Elizabeth Kirby; siblings Shirley Greene, Roger (Joy) Short and Margie (Gary) Matheny; special sister-in-law Dorothy Short; and a host of step grandchildren and their children, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends one in particular Sheila Joyce who called her everyday. She attended Crown City Community Church and Elizabeth Chapel Church. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2021 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with Pastor Randy Carnes officiating. Burial will follow in Crown City Cemetery, Crown City, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio.
