Karen Yvonne Black's Obituary
Karen Yvonne Black, 79, of Proctorville, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Karen was born August 10, 1944, in Huntington, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Victor G. Miller and Elizabeth A. Halsey Miller.Karen was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and her Maranatha Sunday School Class of Proctorville, Ohio, where she loved serving The Lord in song, Bible studies and sharing her testimony of Jesus Christ with everyone she met. For 37 years, she and Ed faithfully participated in a monthly, couples Bible Study with their lifelong friends.Survivors include her beloved and devoted husband, Ed Black of Proctorville, Ohio, her adored children, son, Mark and wife, Kim Black and daughter, Bekki and husband T.J. Belville. Grandchildren, Victor and Luke (Angela) Black, and Santana Belville. Two sisters, Martha Ingersoll and Vicky Murdock. She cherished a host of nieces and nephews.Karen especially loved being Santana's Thursday Homeschool Teacher.Karen worked as Office Manager for the Bowen Family at Tudor Roofing. She volunteered at The Chesapeake Community Centered and St. Mary's Hospital. Karen will be remembered in our hearts for her delightful entertaining in her home, writing and reading her diaries, traveling, times at the beach with family and friends, HEHS Reunions. Karen, also, thoroughly enjoyed sharing and witnessing on Facebook. She felt it was her mission field.Christ has always been the leader of the Black Family.A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville, Ohio, with Pastor Jeff Black officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM~11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Forest Memorial Park in Milton, West Virginia. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio is honored to assist the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at ehallfuneralhome.com.
