Karen Lynn Cromwell's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Karen Cromwell, who left us on July 9, 2024, at the age of 81. Karen was born on February 12, 1943, and her life was a tapestry of love, joy, and unwavering devotion to her family, friends, and community.Karen was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She found immense joy in the love and laughter of her grandchildren, Callie and Reed, and cherished every moment spent with her family, and friends. Her home was always filled with warmth, music, and laughter.She was an avid music lover and an amazing singer in her own right. Karen loved working crossword puzzles, reading, coloring, gardening, and cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes.Karen was a proud and active member of both Huntington, WV and Proctorville, Ohio communities. She embraced the spirit of community, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a kind word. Her contributions and volunteer work in the community were numerous, and she made a lasting impact on everyone she met. She was a volunteer with The Garden Club, St. Mary's Medical Center, and a member of the Golden Girls Chorus Club. Karen was also a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church in Huntington, WV.Karen is preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur "Pete" Cromwell and her sister, Sharon France. Karen is survived by her loving children, Trina Reau, Greg Thomas, and John Cromwell, her daughter-in-law's Kelly Rice and Gina Cromwell, her adored grandchildren, Callie and Reed Cromwell, and many cherished family members and friends. Her legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.A celebration of Karen's life will take place on Friday, July 26th at 3:00 P.M. at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories of a remarkable woman who touched so many lives at 2:00 P.M., one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, WV or Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN, a testament to Karen's generous spirit.Karen Cromwell's love for her family, her passion for music, and her dedication to her community will be remembered and treasured. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
