Karen Beth Graham's Obituary
The most faithful band mom, biggest encourager and cheerleader, dedicated church youth group leader, faithful friend, and trustworthy confidant. Karen Beth Graham, 59, of South Point, Ohio, died at St. Mary's Hospital, and went to be with Jesus, on Friday, October 4, 2024. She was born in Huntington, West Virginia, on May 18, 1965, to Ernie and Elaine Earls, of Proctorville, Ohio. Karen grew up on Wolf Creek and attended Symmes Valley High School before going on to earn her Bachelor's Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. She put that degree to good use in working at the WV DHHR for over a decade, and most recently, as a Program Manager of the Senior Community Service Employment Program at Southwest Community Action Council, Inc., in Huntington, West Virginia.Karen was preceded in death by her father and mother, Ernie and Elaine Earls, and is survived by her children Sarah (Heath) Lafferty, Jacob Graham, Katelyn (David) Bickett, Caleb Graham; her grandchildren, Levi Lafferty, Ellie and Rebekah Bickett, three sisters, Pamela (Edward) Wetmore, Terri Cash, Jackie Ball; four nieces, Heather (Bob) Smethurst, Niccole (Mark) Franklin, Dani (Ryan) Russell, Alex (Chris) Kandrach; one nephew, Christopher Wetmore; eight great nieces and nephews, and a multitude of family and friends. Karen loved her family and friends with an unwavering devotion, always ready to provide what was needed, defend the underdog, pray for you, or point you to scripture, but her favorite role was that as a grandparent. She treasured her time with her grandkids and loved being "Grandma", who would sneak in the extra cookie, blow bubbles anywhere, anytime, and always answer with "absolutely", when asked if she could keep them for a little while. She will always be remembered for making each person she had a conversation with feel valued, heard, and loved. She was a humble servant of the Lord, with a quiet confidence, a quick wit, trivia genius, and a smart aleck remark or raise of the eyebrow, as the occasion called for it. She would not want us to forget that, "If no one has told you lately, I think you're amazing". Public visitation is Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 6:00-8:00pm at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville, Ohio. The funeral service will be Wednesday, October 9, at 12:00pm, at Hall Funeral Home with graveside service to follow at Spring Valley Memorial Gardens.
