Kathleen Helen Stevens' Obituary
KATHLEEN HELEN STEVENS, 84, of South Point, OH, passed away at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Farley officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. On July 9, 1928, an angel, our mother, was born, one whose life was devoted to taking care of her children and family. On Tuesday, January 15, 2013, she was called home. We will miss but never forget her as we strive to be more like her; kind, caring, loving, and forgiving. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Nancy Freeman Butcher. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Jess Stevens. Kathleen is survived by five sons, Charles (Audrey) Stevens, Tom (Carolyn) Stevens, Jack (Pam) Stevens, Joseph (Kathy) Stevens, and John (Lois) Stevens; five daughters, Nancy Adkins, Sharon Kimble, Diana Stevens, Lisa (Greg) Taylor, and Trisha Ross; 25 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; and one sister, Bernice Rickard. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Broughton; a son, James Stevens; three sisters, Beauford, Louise, and Hazel; four brothers, Benjamin, Samuel, Charles, and Jack; and one great granddaughter, Karri Adkins. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 11 AM Saturday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.schneidergriffin.com.
