Kayla Ann Pruitt's Obituary
Kayla Ann Pruitt (Payne), 16, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024, due to a tragic automobile accident. She was born November 6, 2007, in Huntington, WV. Kayla was affectionately nicknamed "Brake Pads" by her family because of her intense and infectious laugh. She was a member of Windsor Church and a high school student in the junior class of Fairland High School and Collins Career and Technical Center. Preceding her in death are her Grandma Dara (John) Gorby, Grandpa Daniel Sowards, and foster mom Misty Clark. Kayla is survived by her mother, Christy (Jay) Pruitt of Proctorville, Ohio; her sister and guardian, Ashley Adkins (Paul Miller), two brothers, Nicholas (Sarah) Rowley, and Christopher Pruitt; her fiancée, Christian Payne; one niece, Jade Adkins; two nephews, Matthew Pruitt and John Ferguson; special foster family, Amber and Shawn Wilks with their family; multiple cousins including special cousins, Sierra (Virgil) Petty, Rosie (Marshall) Dunn, and Sarah Sowards; and many other special friends and family members. Kayla was the life of the party, greeted the world with a great smile and laugh, and all around happy go lucky girl. She brought happiness to many friends and loved to make new friends. She liked to make people laugh and loved laughing with them. She had a life plan to serve God, get married and start a family with Christian and wanted to open her own garage business. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to the family. But just to mention sunflowers were her favorite flower and are very welcome. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with Pastor Harold Hamlin officiating. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the funeral home.
