Lance Pannell's Obituary
Lance Pannell, 91, of Chesapeake, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at home. He was born on April 5, 1933, in Huntington, WV, to the late Harold and Marie (Suthers) Pannell. He was also preceded in death by his brother Neil Pannell and sisters Alice Pannell Bias and Winifred Pannell Patton.
He was a retired Postmaster from Barboursville, WV. He was a Korean Navy Veteran and a member of VFW Post #1064 Huntington, WV, American Legion of Huntington, WV, DAV, and The Elks. He was an avid Marshall University fan, golfer, and bowler. He spent a lot of time at the YMCA.
He is survived by his wife Marlene McDaniel Pannell; children Lisa (Dennis) Ransbottom of Chesapeake, OH, Penny (Brian) Martin of Chesapeake, OH, and Rock Pannell (Abbie) of Scottown, OH; grandchildren Taylor Martin, Ryan Pitkin, Bretton Martin, McKenna Pannell, Walker Pannell, and Lincoln Pannell; sister Sharon Pannell Wood (Bob) of Lakeland, FL; Danny Pannell of Chesapeake, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, OH, with Pastor Mark Fields officiating. Burial will be held at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, OH. Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington.
