Lance David Pauley, Sr.'s Obituary
Lance David Pauley Sr., 77, of South Point, Ohio, born on April 6, 1946, in Logan, WV, peacefully passed away on July 14, 2023, following a brief illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Donna Jean Pauley, and his son, Lance David Pauley II. Additionally, he is survived by his nephew, Tim Pauley, and a host of other nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Cinco. Lance (David) was preceded in death by his parents, Ersel and Lillian Pauley, two sisters, Shirley Burriss and Nancy Pauley, and seven brothers, Johnny, Lynn Sidney, Tom, Richard, Jimmy, and two infant brothers. The youngest of 10 children, Lance (David) fondly shared the story of being the only sibling born in a hospital. He moved to Huntington, WV with his family when he was 14 years old. He served in the military with honor and received an honorable discharge. He continued his service in the reserves for many years. Lance took great pride in his military service and enjoyed recounting stories from that time while sharing military history with his son. He dedicated 50 plus years to working in auto sales never truly retiring while also managing property. He was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering dedication as both a husband and a father. Lance was a devoted provider who always ensured his family was well taken care of and protected. He refused to slow down working in his later years regardless of his immediate families' wishes. He also had a passion for sports and spent many evenings with his son, Lance II, watching baseball and football. He was very active in his son's academia and athletics when younger, coaching and mentoring as much as possible in between working full time. Lance (David) took an interest in helping other people while mentoring younger generations. He loved working with people, often offering jobs to others when others would not. He was a very special man who is loved and missed by the many lives he touched. Lance also had a special affection for dogs, specifically chihuahuas, owning many over his lifetime. He's survived by his lovable one year old chihuahua, Mr. Cinco and his grand pup Minnie. Visitation for Lance will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023, from 5-6pm for family and 6-8pm for the public at Hall Funeral Home & Crematory in Proctorville. A funeral service will also take place on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 1pm at the funeral home, followed by interment at White Chapel Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.
