Larry Jay Casteel's Obituary
Larry Jay Casteel, 75, of Chesapeake, Ohio, passed away Sunday September 7, 2025 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born May 12, 1950 in East Lynn, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents Ira Jay Casteel and Betty and Ray Fletcher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Charles and Jerry Casteel. He retired from McKesson General Medical and pastored at Charity Freewill Baptist Church. He was the current pastor for Mt. Pleasant Freewill Baptist Church for 34 years. He is survived by his wife Donna Casteel; one son Daniel Todd (April) Casteel; one daughter Michele (James) Layne; five grandchildren Alexia, Brittany Austin, Emma, and Dekota; four great-grandchildren Brentley, Charlee, Branson, and Remington; one sister Carol Sue Pack; Godmother Leah Parsons; a host of nieces and nephews; and a congregation that loved him. Funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Saturday September 13, 2025 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery Proctorville, Ohio.
