Laura Ellen Booth's Obituary
Laura E. Burchett Maxey Booth, 94, of Chesapeake, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, at her residence. Born on September 3, 1929, in Butler, MD, to the late Wiley and Leah Dishner Burchett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy William and Becky Maxey; husbands, James William Maxey and J.D. Booth, and 6 siblings, Peggy Baldwin, Elizabeth Rush, Wiley Burchett, Lillian Rigsby, Doug Burchett, and Bob Burchett. Laura was a member of Rome Presbyterian Church for 60 years and worked as a cosmetologist for 40 years. She is survived by her children, Barbara (Jerry) May and Chuck (Brenda) Maxey; grandchildren, Marci May (Tim) Shumway, Kari May, Derek Maxey, Adam Maxey, and Lori Maxey (David) Adkins; great-grandchild, Savanna Shumway (Cody) Collins; great-great-grandchildren, Megan Slone, Logan Gunawan, Nate Maxey, and Ben Maxey; great-great-grandchild, Kia Slone, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to send a special thank you to Hospice. A Celebration of Laura's life will be held at a later date.
