Lenville Harding Mays, 100, of Proctorville, Ohio , beloved Christian, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2021 at home. He was born January 1, 1921, son of the late Leonard Newman Read Obituary
Mr. Mays was a beacon of love and light. Willie (ronald) and David shared my class at Fairland for 12 years. We also grew up together at Beulah Baptist church. Connie Gorby Mays put it best 'When you walk into the Mays home, all you feel is soo much love'. Mr. Mays came to the events held by Fairland class of 71 reunion. That's how he was, always so involved with his kids. He sought me out and we had such a lovely conversation, and his memory was amazing. So sorry for your loss. Dr. Donna Gillette
My condolences to the Mays family. Death and separation is never easy, but with the sadness should be mixed some pride and contentment with the remarkable life that your father lived. He was such an inspiration and example for all of us. He was always about encouraging others as he encouraged me many times over the years and countless others at Beulah and Fairland with his support. Well done Lenville may you rest in peace and we carry on your example.
During this pandemic missing Lenville was at the top of the list of things I was missing. His Christian presence in Beulah Church will be missed by many. Such a kind and loving Christian man! Heaven is truly rejoicing today. May his family find comfort in this. My prayers will be for those he has left behind.
I worked with Lenville at Owens for many years. He always had a smile for you, especially when you bought coffee from him. RIP my friend.
