Linda Gail Lawson's Obituary
Linda Gail Lawson, 73, of Milton, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, surrounded by comfort and care.
Born on September 22, 1952, in Milton, West Virginia, Linda was the eldest of nine children born to the late Harry James Holley and Alice Lucy Kathryn Porter Holley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Patricia “Ann” Holley, Johnny Holley, Alice Holley, Mark Holley, and Melissa Holley.
Linda lovingly cared for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant, sharing the same compassion and selfless heart she carried throughout her life.
Linda shared 22 loving years of marriage with her husband, William “Billy” Lawson. She was a proud and devoted mother to her children: Leanne Castro (Glenn), Treva Turner (Tom), Sherman “Bubby” Bennett IV (Karolyn), Louis “JR” Hamlin (Julie), Samantha Hamlin, and Megan Hamlin.
She was a cherished grandmother to her nine grandchildren—Nicholas, Caity, Jonathan, Andrew, Reagan, Sherman, Cheyenne, Shannon, and Bentley. She was also a beloved great-grandmother to her great-grandchildren, Gannon, Penelope, Blakeley, River, Parker, and Jon, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy and pride.
Linda found peace and joy in painting, crocheting, and crafting, often using her creativity to create meaningful and beautiful gifts for those she loved. She was known for her generous heart, and her willingness to give of herself to others. Linda’s kindness left a lasting impression on all who were blessed to know her.
Linda will be remembered for her loving heart, artistic talent, and the deep bonds she shared with her family and friends. Though her presence will be dearly missed, her memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A private service will be held by the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that acts of kindness be performed in honor of Linda’s memory.
