Roberta Hogsett Messner
During my high school years, when I rode to school with Linda, as I waited on the couch admiring that baby grand, I will never forget how gracious Mr. Curtis was (Roberta). Mr. Curtis was a kind and gentle soul, not to mention brilliant, always helping our shut-in neighbor Miss Wilson and looking out for her. It always made her feel safe and protected. The Curtis family is a memorable part of our growing-up years and we thank God for them. Mrs. Curtis was so wonderful to us too. Rebekkah remembers a party hosted by the Curtises (held in their fabulous basement) on June 3, 1974, when she received the call from her mother across the street that her twin nieces had been born. "They were always hospitable and opening their beautiful home and garden to a bunch of teen-age kids,"Rebekkah says. We were all blessed to have such a terrific neighborhood. What dear Madison Avenue people! An era never to be duplicated again. Roberta Hogsett Messner and Rebekkah Hogs
