Lowell 'Ray' Adkins' Obituary
Lowell "Ray" Adkins, 78, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Monday, September 17, 2018 at St. Marys Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born February 29, 1940 in Wayne, WV son of the late Julian and Ada Pearl Doss Adkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Jack Adkins and Clinton Adkins. He retired from Mountaineer Gas and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Cooper Adkins; one daughter Heather (David) Oder of Proctorville, Ohio; two sons Davy (Jessie) Peters of Proctorville, Ohio and Tim Adkins of Huntington, WV; seven grandchildren, Zachary, Emily, Sheldon, Cassie, Kiley, Emily and Ambria (Travis); two great grandchildren Ruby and River; one sister Onealee (McKinley) Sanders of Rittman, Ohio; four brothers Claude (Zella) Adkins of Ashland, Ky, Julian (Ruth) Adkins of Cleveland, Ohio, Charlie (Carla) Adkins of Kentucky and Rick (Vanessa) Adkins of Huntington, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Proctorville V.F.W. Post 6878 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
