LuAnn Scarberry's Obituary
LuAnn Scarberry, 67, of Proctorville, Ohio, where she lived with her son and family, went to be with our angles in heaven after a courageous fight with cancer on December 3rd, 2025, at Community of Hospice in Ashland, KY. She loved doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters and her great grandbabies, they were her pride and joy.
She was born on October 17, 1958, to the late Patricia and Garland Adkins. She was proceeded in death by her nephew, Zachary Dunn; her former husband, Randell Scarberry; her brother-in-law, Stephen Misner, and two of her best friends, Pam Clonch and Patricia Foster.
LuAnn is survived by her son, Joshua (Tara) Scarberry that she loved dearly; granddaughters, Patricia Scarberry (who was the light of her eye) and Gabrielle (Braxton) Salmons; great-grandchildren, Brynlee Lambert, Weston Mullins, and one on the way; 2 step great-grandchildren, Liberty and Ty Salmons, and several she has claimed through the years, especially Abigail Brewer and Hunter Scarberry; 3 sisters, Patti (Greg) Colegrove, Lisa Misner and Lori (Martin) Daniel; 2 brothers, Troy Adkins and Myrl (Connie) Adkins; nieces and nephews, Stephen Misner Jr., Seth Misner, Ryan Dunn, Stacy Adkins, Adam Adkins, Ashley Swain, Jeffery Adkins, Amanda Irungu, and Jenny Chatterton, and many great-nieces and great-nephews, many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. LuAnn had many special friends that she loved to see and talk to for hours.
LuAnn made a living before her retirement working at Gino's for over 20 years and York's Appliances as a dispatcher for 20 plus years. But after her retirement, unfortunately, she began a strong fight with this evil thing called cancer and fought hard for the last 4 plus years. Unfortunately, she just could not continue and had to stop in September 2025. But she did give it one crazy fight for as long as she could.
As a family, we would like to give a special thanks to Chrystal Pauley, Missy Basenback, Brittney Ferguson, Chad Higgins, MaryAnn Steele, Amanda Carraher, Christiane Ueno, and many others for all the love and care you showed her over the last few years.
