Luke Lee Casey's Obituary
Luke Lee Casey, whom many knew as “Butch”, passed away on January 15, 2026, after a battle with lung cancer and liver disease. He was born on February 8, 1960 in Lancaster, OH. He lived the majority of his life in South Point, OH. He was preceded in death by his father, Luke Casey; mother, Evelyn Thacker Casey and sister, Louella Esque. His survivors include one son, Jedidiah (Jennifer) Casey of South Point, OH; two daughters, Meghan (Joe) Michaels, also of South Point, OH and Kayla (Brian) McQueen of London, KY; four grandchildren, Oliver McQueen, Jaxson Casey, Jonah Casey and Jemma Casey; three sisters, Rose Jones, Deanna Brooks, and Joanna Casey, as well as many nieces and nephews. Luke served in the National Guard for several years in the 1980’s. He worked as a janitor for many years at the South Point Local Schools, serving most of those years at Burlington Elementary. He was an avid football fan cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Green Bay Packers. He had a long time hobby and love for working on cars…that was when he was the happiest. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to any one he crossed paths with. He loved sci-fi movies and most importantly, loved spending time with his friends and family when he could. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. The family would like to give a special “thank you” to his sister, Rose, who was by his side faithfully the last few months. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Burlington Wesleyan Independent Church, 7353 County Road 1, South Point, OH 45680.
