Marguerite “Margie” Emm Montgomery, born May 26, 1934, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, surrounded by her loved ones, following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rebecca Daughtery and Clarence Emm, and her sisters, Mary Emm and Rebecca Geswein. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Edward L. Montgomery, Jr.; children, Theresa (Tim) Gambrel, Susan (Greg) Lipscomb, and Charles (Kim) Montgomery; brother, Robert (Helen Ferguson) Emm of Vero Beach, FL; her much loved grandchildren, Kristen (Ryan Berg) Wilson, Jared (Allie) Layne, Jacob Montgomery (Bridge Spoth), and Bailey Montgomery, and her nephew, David (Sherri Kelley) Geswein. Margie worked for C&P Telephone and in her later years, for Gibson Greetings Card Company. However, she considered her most important job to be a homemaker to her three children and MawMaw to her grandchildren. Margie and Ed were longtime members of Our Lady of Fatima Church and were very active in the church community. They were true and humble servants of Christ. Ed taught CCD classes to the young parishioners at their home, and Margie would always supply her delicious baked goods. They also volunteered for nearly 20 years at St. Mary’s Medical Center, a mission they truly loved and believed in. For the past two years, Margie was a resident of Wyngate at Rivers Edge in Proctorville, Ohio, and was much loved by the employees who took excellent care of her. Margie may have been tiny in nature, but she was a giant force to be reckoned with. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio, is assisting the family with arrangements. A vigil will be held from 10:00-10:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Huntington, WV, on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
