Marion Hayes' Obituary
MARION HAYES, 80, of Scottown, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016, in Willow Wood. She was born Nov. 4, 1935, in Federal Creek, OH, the daughter of the late Andrew and Nellie Munday Cyrus. Marion was a long-time resident of Scottown, where she raised her family and farmed with her husband, Glen. She attended Symmes Creek Missionary Baptist Church for many years and was active in the VFW Post # 6878 Women's Auxiliary. Marion was a caring friend, wife, mother and grandmother. Marion is survived by one sister, Edith Carter Williams of Proctorville; one daughter, Sherri (Kenny) Holland of Huntington, WV; a special niece, Barbara (Bob) Smith of Wayne, WV; three grandsons, Jeremy (Amy) Holland of Willow Wood, Eric (Sarah) Holland of South Point, Justin (Brandee) Holland of Scottown; and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and three sisters, Georgia Henderson, Lenora Blake and Emily Burd. Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Schneider Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor Trent Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at Perkins Ridge Cemetery. The family and friends will gather at the residence of Justin and Brandee Holland immediately following the service. Visitation will be 10 AM to 11 AM Thursday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Heartland Hospice, 315 Washington Street, Suite B, Oak Hill, OH 45656.
