Mary Cora Davis' Obituary
We are heartbroken to announce that our mother, Mary Cora Davis, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at St. Mary's Medical Center at the age of 70. She was the heart & soul of our family and will be missed terribly.Sharlee, as she was known by family and friends, was born June 4, 1953 to Charles Edward and Mary Lou Yates. She attended Marshall University and was studying to become a nurse before earning her degree as the best Mom we could have ever asked for. Mary was at every school performance and was the homeroom mom for every class party.Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Lou; her husband, John R. Davis and her son, James Davis. She is survived by her daughter, Johnna Davis and son in law, Brian Cade; daughter, Cori (Davis) Collins of NC; grandsons, Alexander Collins and Aiden Collins; granddaughter, Lillian Collins and son Charles John Davis.
