Megan Florence Hammond's Obituary
Megan Hammond, 37, of Chesapeake, OH, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2025, in Louisa, KY. She spent her last days at the home of Melissa and Rocky Perry (sister and brother-in-law) of Louisa as they lovingly and diligently cared for her. As Megan would have it, her wonderful husband, Jeremy Hammond, “held down the fort” in Chesapeake, caring for their three children, while traveling back and forth to Kentucky to see his wife. Megan was born in West Palm Beach, FL, on September 13, 1987 to LouAnn Count and Frank Scolpini. She was preceded in death by her step father, Al Sniff; mothers-in-law, Wilma Mullinex and Donna Hammond and two brothers-in-law, Bucky Holley and Michael Williams.
In addition to her devoted husband, Jeremy Hammond, she is survived by two daughters, Maddie Hammond (Tanner Sellards) and Maria Hammond; one son, Ayden Hammond and precious granddaughter, Oaklynn; her mother, LuAnn Count; father,Frank Scolpini; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Melissa and Rocky Perry, Linda and Mike Espivoza and Dee and Nathan Baird, and one brother, Frank Scolpini. Others left to cherish her memory are father-in-law, Dallas Hammond; brother-in-law, Jesse Hammond, six nieces and six nephews.
Megan graduated from Huntington High School, Class of 2007. She was a Realtor Sales Associate with JC Penney for fourteen years and dearly loved her time there. Having met her future husband at age 12, Megan, poured her life into Jeremy, their children and being “MaMa” to Oaklynn. She also liked the excitement and thrill of rides at Kings Island and had lots of fun at Red Man’s Bingo Hall.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH. Visitation will be one hour prior from 1:00 pm to service time. Burial in Bowen Cemetery, Wayne, WV, will follow. Schneider-Hall Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at schneiderhallfuneralhome.com.
