Melvin J. Corder 1931 - 2016
Melvin J. Corder, 85, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Thursday October 6, 2016 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born June 6, 1931 in Franklin County to the late Thomas A. and Alberta F. Held Corder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Mary Corder; and two brothers Arthur and Jim Corder. He was a member of Big Branch Church and a retired pastor of several churches. He was owner of Corder’s Car Care Center in Chesapeake, Ohio. He is survived by his daughter Barbara Ann Meadows of Proctorville; three sons John (Rebecca) Corder of Vilas, NC, William (Gisele) Corder of Rock Hill, SC, and Robert (Rebekah) Corder of Barboursville, WV; ten grandchildren Sean, Brett, Preston, Dale, Ryan, Kathryn, Laura, Brian, Ben and Aubrei; five great grandchildren Cannon, Aiden, Sutton, Lindsey and Lennon; one brother Thomas Corder; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday October 10, 2016 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Randy Henderson. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday October 10, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Homes for Veterans.
