Michael “Brennan” McDonald, 52, of Proctorville, OH, died peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was the son of Jane Landers Jarvis of Crown City, OH, and his late father, Michael X. McDonald of Ashland, KY. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Mabel Landers of Chesapeake, OH, Bill and Mary Ann McDonald of Follansbee, WV, and 4 uncles. He was born in Orlando, FL, on May 3, 1974. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Kevin (Jessica) McDonald of Proctorville, OH; stepfather, Estill “Cooley” Jarvis; stepsisters, Samantha Mullens of Port Charlotte, FL, and Tomi Majher of South Point, OH, and many very much-loved cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces. Brennan was a member of the 1992 graduating class of St. Joseph High School in Ironton, OH. He then went on to graduate from Ohio University in Athens, OH. He was employed by Amazon for many years. For enjoyment, he loved to jog until he had an accident that left him unable to continue. He also had a soft spot for animals and cared for many pets throughout his life. He was a self-proclaimed nerd who was a huge fan of the sci-fi genre of movies and books. Brennan’s life will be honored and remembered by all who loved him, and his memory will remain a source of comfort to his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, July 25, 2026, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Chesapeake, OH. officiated by Father Wayne Morris. Visitation will be one hour prior to services beginning at 11:00 A.M. Urn burial will be a private ceremony at Miller Memorial Gardens at a later date, where he will be laid to rest alongside his beloved father. In memory of Brennan, donations may be made to Hospice, Little Victories Animal Rescue, Cabell-Wayne Animal Shelter, or any charity that is meaningful to you.
