Michael D. Roberts' Obituary
Michael D. Roberts, age 71, of Huntington, WV and long-time resident of Escanaba, Michigan died on July 23, 2019 following a lengthy illness. He was born on January 20, 1948 in Medford, WI to Floyd and Cloie Roberts. He grew up in Munising, Ml and graduated from Mather High School in 1966. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1970 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from the City of Escanaba, MI as a heavy equipment mechanic and welder. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his sister; Eleanor Hixon; three brothers, Floyd Jr., Edward, and James Roberts; four brothers-in-law, Kenneth Hixon, Michael Noble, Joseph Brey, and Robert Maki. Mike leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Linda Adkins-Roberts; daughters Angela (John) Pahl, granddaughters Ashlyn and Kendall Pahl of Grand Haven, MI, and Annette Roberts of Atlanta, GA; stepdaughters, Kristie Sarver, Angela Adkins (JT Cabell), Jennifer Adkins (JT Frazier) all of Huntington WV; 7 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Pat Brey of Munising MI, Linda (Lorne) Davey of Rapid River, MI, Mary Maki of Gladstone, MI, Carolyn Nobl of Escanaba, MI, and Rebecca (Ronald) Hess of Gladstone, MI.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 12 noon Saturday July 27, 2019 at Apostolic Life Cathedral 350 Staunton Street, Huntington, WV with Bishop E.S. Harper officiating. Visitation be held 10 a.m. to 12 noon the same day at the church. A fellowship will follow after the service in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family with arrangements.
