Michael “Mike” Kevin Russell, 65, of Portsmouth, OH, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH. Born on January 31, 1961, in Ironton, OH, he was the son of the late James Russell and Pearl Allen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Russell and Rick Russell; sisters, Barbara Floyd and Regina Kingery, and daughter, Amanda Lynn Russell. Mike was a graduate of Dawson Bryant High School and grew up in Coal Grove, OH. He liked to fish, watch wrestling, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He is survived by his fiancé, Brenda Jenkins; sisters, Frances (Jr) Corns, Diana Kingery, Janet (Craig) Ervin, and Mary (Wade) Turvey; son, Michael Russell (Brianna Kuhn) II; daughter, Christina Cory; 5 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH, is assisting the family with arrangements.
