Myrtle Elizabeth Jenkins' Obituary
On Saturday, January 25, 2020, Myrtle Elizabeth Jenkins, loving wife and mother of three children, went to her heavenly home at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, WV. Myrtle was born on August 17, 1926, to Roy and Margaret Wilcox of Vermont. Myrtle had a large family. She was the oldest of five brothers and 4 sisters; Richard and wife, Bert; Earl and wife, Susie; Dana and wife; Ernest and wife, Jeanie; Walter and wife, Alice; Lois and husband, Bert; Hazel and husband, Mickey; Winnie and husband, Ron; and Theresa and husband, David. Myrtle was preceded in death by her two husbands, Joseph Raymond Landry and Kenneth L. Jenkins. Myrtle also had two sons, Francis, who survives her and his wife, Betty who preceded her in death, and son Joseph who preceded her in death, and one surviving daughter, Evelyn and son-in law, Russell Tooley. Myrtle was also a loving grandmother to Thomas (Donna) and Raymond (Ada) Landry, and Wendy Landry, and Tracy (Wendy) and Tate (Krista) Tooley. She was also a loving great-grandmother to Jacob Landry, and Kadin, Konner, and Zachary Tooley. Myrtle also had special friends Jenny White and Diane Stone. Myrtle was from Ludlow, Massachusetts but after she married Kenneth, they moved from their home in Massachusetts to Georgia following their jobs. Upon retirement, they moved to Florida to settle down. After many years away from family, and after Kenneth passed, Myrtle had to move back home to live with her son, Frank. While there, she had many good times with her grandsons, Raymond and Tom, and great-grandson, Jacob. Upon deterioration of her health, Myrtle moved to Proctorville, Ohio, to live with and be cared for by her daughter, Evelyn, and son-in-law, Russell. There she got to know her grandsons, Tracy and Tate and their wives. along with her great-grandchildren, Kadin, Zachary, and Konner. This is where she remained until her death. She was a beloved member of New Hope United Methodist Church. There will be no services. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
