Odessa Lee Williams' Obituary
Odessa Lee Williams, 55, was born in Logan, WV on October 22, 1964. Her family was by her side in Huntington, WV when she parted from us on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 to be with her Heavenly Father. Lee grew up, completed her high school education and began her journey working with various community organizations that focused on the betterment of persons with disabilities in Logan, WV. Her community activism continued when she relocated to Huntington, WV in 1986. Most recently, Lee was appointed to the WV Statewide Independent Living Council and the Board of the Fair Shake Network organization, educating policymakers and the public about disability issues. Lee loved being with family and friends, whether playing games or sharing a good meal. She had a great sense of humor that showed in many ways. Even as she underwent treatment during the last stages of her illness, when the medical staff would ask "Is there anything I can do for you Odessa?" Her favorite response was "You can get me that sack of money!". Lee enjoyed a full life, not defining herself by her disability. She had a strong will and a perseverance that transcended her physical limitations. She did not hesitate to voice her opinions about subjects she felt strongly about. One thing our family always said about Lee is "There is nothing wrong with Lees mind". She can do anything she sets her mind to . AND SHE DID!! Odessa Lee Williams is survived by her parents Barbara Price and Randall Price (Angela Step-Mother); Siblings Ronda Stewart (Christopher), Randall Price Jr (Tiffany), Lynx Price (Kari) and Ariel Price. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews; and a host of family members and dear friends. The family would like to thank the Cabell Hospital Oncology Medical Staff and Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice staff for the wonderful care Lee received. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019 at 2pm. Location: 16th Street Baptist Church, Huntington, WV with Reverend Dr. James H. Redd Jr. officiating. Family will welcome friends one hour prior to service. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.
