Ophelia Mae DawsonSunrise July 25, 1920-Sunset October 18, 2023Ophelia Mae Simms Dawson, born July 25, 1920, in Ronceverte, WV, to Edward Simms Sr. and Evelyn Simms. She was preceded in death by both parents; husband Elvin C. Dawson; son Charles "Chuck" Dawson; sister Delma Simms Perry Hardgrow; and brother Edward "Brownie" Simms Jr. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 70 years. Left to cherish her memories are two brothers Donald Simms Sr. (Susette) and Virgil Simms (Laverne); daughter- in-law April Dawson; three grandchildren Shayla and Charles "Roby" Dawson and Shawnda Lyte; special niece Norma Washington; great niece Shawlaun Washington; two special great nephews Kevin and DeJuan Washington; two great grandchildren Nylal and Charlize Dawson; a host of other nieces, great nieces, and great great-nieces; nephews, great nephews, and great great-nephews; and a host of friends and family. The family wishes to thank Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, OH, for their services. Private Family Services will be held with Rev. Franklin Murphy officiating.
