Orville Etdsel Adkins' Obituary
Orville Adkins, 83, formerly of Huntington passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26, 2024. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was born February 29, 1940, to the late Harvey and Ella Jackson Adkins and grew up on a small farm in East Lynn, West Virginia.As a teenager he survived polio and went on to graduate from Wayne High School. He worked for JABO Supply for 35 years before retiring and he also served as a long-time volunteer for Beverly Hills Youth Football and Little League 8 in Huntington.He was preceded in death by his siblings, Blanche Russell, Ralph Stephens, Gelious Adkins, Jay Adkins, Brainard Adkins, Gorman Adkins, Delores Webb, Seldon Adkins, Norman Archie Adkins, and Gary Adkins.He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janice Gayle Easterling Adkins; sons Randy (Natalie) Adkins and Scott Adkins (Alyson Edwards); grandchildren Bailey, Ross, and Ryan Adkins; siblings Joyce Roach, Sherma Ferguson, and Mike Adkins; a host of nieces and nephews; and friends too numerous to count.Celebration of Life will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A private burial service for the immediate family will be held at a future date at Ridgelawn Memorial Park in Huntington.
