Oscar Spratley's Obituary
Oscar Spratley, 71, of South Point, Ohio passed away on Tuesday September 26th after a lengthy illness. Oscar was born to Juanita Taylor on September 11, 1951, in Huntington W.V. He grew up in Long Branch New Jersey and graduated from High School there.He went on to proudly serve this country in the United States Air Force as a medic from 1973-1993. After a long military career that included multiple deployments throughout the world; Oscar started a second career operating a business: building, programing, and repairing computers for business use. He managed an apartment complex later and enjoyed a reef keeping hobby most of his adult life. He was proficient in several forms of Martial Arts and an instructor of different styles of Karate for many years. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents James and Juanita Spratley of Long Branch, New Jersey. He is survived by two sons: Christopher and Michael and their mother Carol; four grandchildren, Grace, James, Solomon and Simone; a cherished sister Teresa Spratley and a niece Yolanda Spratley both of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; a brother James of Easton, MD; a beloved cousin Melanie Alderman of New Jersey; along with many cousins who live in the Lawrence County, Ohio area. Oscar was very blessed to have had the love, devotion and tireless efforts of his Aunt, Jarrell Worley of South Point Ohio, a devoted cousin Renee Fox of South Point Ohio, and a trusted and supportive friend Dawn Short of Huntington WV. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on November 3, 2022 at Woodland Cemetery Veteran's section in Ironton, Ohio. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, OH, is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at ehallfuneralhome.com.
