Pamela Kaye Wood's Obituary
Pamela Kaye Wood, of Chesapeake, Ohio, affectionally known as Gammy, passed away on July 7, 2024, in Cincinnati after a battle with illness. Pam was born to Joe and Joyce Sykes in Huntington, West Virginia, on April 8, 1958. Pam was so full of life and loved by so many. Pam married the love of her life, Randy, on May,12, 1979, beginning the start of the happiest times of their lives. How lucky that they were able to have 45 years of making the most amazing memories together. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Natalee and Noelle, to whom she gave her entire heart and soul. Every sporting event, every dance, every sleepover, she was always there. She is the one who made sure everyone had the best time. Her smile was so bright, and her laugh was infectious. She brought a light to everyone she came in contact with. Even a stranger. When she'd first meet someone, she'd always say, "you don't know it yet, but you're gonna love me!" And if she did love you, how lucky you were because her love was unconditional. You will never forget how she made you feel. Pam graduated from Fairland High School in 1976, and she could still show you the fight song cheer. She soon after became a proud member of the Chesapeake Panthers community and boy, did she love the Peake. She was everyone's biggest cheerleader. Pam graduated from St. Mary's School of Radiology, specializing as a nuclear medicine technologist for 30 years. She tended to thousands of patients and many colleagues in her career, who to this day still talk about the impact she made on them. Pam lived by the quote, "choose the job you love, and you'll never work a day in your life." She loved her career and the people she worked with. Her generosity of spirit touched everyone she encountered. One of her favorite roles in life was being a Gammy to her "grandbabies" Sloane, Storie, and Beau. She couldn't wait to get her hands on them, and they brought out the absolute best in her. Pam is survived by her husband, Randy, daughter, Noelle (Andrew), brother, Joe (Jennifer), father-in-law Tom (Julie) and her three sweet grand babies, who will cherish her memory forever. Preceded in death by her precious angel daughter, Natalee, her parents, Joe and Joyce and her mother-in-law, Mary Ann. Pam loved her family. She has so many wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews and in spite of distance, they would always meet for an annual family reunion. A celebration of life will be held for Pam at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday July 20, 2024 at the funeral home. A reception will immediately follow the service at the Proctorville VFW Post #6878.
