Patricia Ruth Lewis' Obituary
Patricia Ruth Lewis, 90, of Chesapeake, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at her residence. Born on September 10, 1934, in Huntington, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian Blake Poynter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James William Lewis; son, James Michael Lewis, and 3 siblings, Charles Poynter, Myron Eugene and Joyce Poynter; Patricia was a devoted mother and homemaker, who devoted her entire adult life to working in the foster care system. She changed the lives of many children for the better. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be missed forever by her family and friends. Special thanks to her dedicated daughter, Jane, with whom she made her home. Patricia is survived by her children, Janice (Bill) Jarvis, Mark (Treley) Lewis, Tammy Bush, Norma Burcham, Jerry Lewis, Betty Sue Lewis, Lisa Kennedy, and Jane Friend; grandson, Shawn Burcham and 10 additional grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; special nieces, Beth Finley and Susan Grauel and numerous other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH, with Pastor Jeff Black and Harold Finley, officiating.
