Paul Vernon Carrico, age 74, passed away on February 27, 2026, comfortably at his home with his daughter by his side. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Vernon Carrico; his beloved wife, Brenda Carrico; his sister, Fern Rigney; and his brother, Ernie Lovell. He is survived by his children, Ben Carrico, Brian Carrico, Beth (Josh Williams) Carrico, and Mariah (John) Yates; his stepson, William Elkins; his siblings, Beverly Harless and Dallas Carrico; his grandchildren, Benjamin Carrico, Nicholas Carrico, Abigail (Nick) Blankenship, Sarah Carrico, Shawn Carrico, Jaxon Paul Yates, and Maverick Cruz Yates; and his great-granddaughter, Lila Fields. Jaxon and Maverick were his best buddies and brought him endless joy. Paul is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as his close longtime friend, Darwin Snyder. Paul loved lottery tickets and enjoyed a good breakfast from Tudors Biscuit World. He was funny, loyal, and often stubborn—but always in a way that made him unmistakably Paul. He was a devoted father, a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, a loving brother, and a true friend. His daughter would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Heartland Hospice of Portsmouth for the compassionate care they provided during his final two weeks, as well as the staff of Fresenius Kidney Care for the amazing care and kindness they showed him over the past three years. In accordance with Paul’s wishes, there will be no services. Condolences may be expressed at schneiderhallfuneralhome.com
