Paul Edward Dornon 1938 - 2017 Paul Edward "Sonny" Dornon, 79, of Proctorville, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at St. Marys Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born July 8, 1938 in Scottown, Ohio son of the late Charles M. and Bertha Shafer Dornon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Stella Ruth Bennett Dornon who passed on April 6, 1995; a brother Ronnie Dornon; and a grandson Jeremy Bordenet. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Dornon; two daughters Tonja (Jeff) Black and Teresa (Greg) Hill; and Carolyns three children Cheryl Bordenet (Randy), Terri Jackson (James) and Marc Rutherford (JeanneAnne); nine grandchildren Deric Paul Hill (Bethany), Holly Ann Dillon (Glenn), Michael Thomas Hill (Carrie), Ethan David Black, Heather Jackson, Jamie Jackson (Jeremy), Michael Bordenet (Tina), Chase Rutherford and Abby Rutherford; 13 great grandchildren Peighton, Stella, Hattie, Gretta, Bailey, Brooklynn, Bentley, Peyton, Jordyn, Owen, Evie, Katelynn and Abram; one sister Betty Dornon Rice; brother-in-law Arnold Bennett; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. He was a member of his church, First Baptist Church, Proctorville, Ohio where he was former chairman of the Deacons. He retired from AEP and was a U.S Army Veteran. Sonny was also a member of Proctorville Masonic Lodge #550 F & AM, 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason Valley of Cincinnati. He was a member of Proctorville V.F.W. Post 6878, former President of the AEP credit union board of directors, Symmes Valley Alumni Association and Fairland Band Boosters. Sonny was a faithful member of his church and community as shown by his love in helping his church family and anyone with anything that needed to be done. He was a giving man who always thought of others before himself, enjoyed helping others and would not expect anything in return. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Proctorville, Ohio with his son-in-law Pastor Jeff Black officiating. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the Church.
