Paul Edward Winkler's Obituary
Paul Edward Winkler, 70, of Barboursville, passed away comfortably in his home under hospice services on June 11th.
Born May 7th, 1956, in Huntington, WV, he was the son of the late Floyd Harrison and Frances Kipp Winkler.
Paul retired from CSX railroad as an engineer and served 17 years between the Air Force and Air National Guard. He loved being out on the water in his boat fishing and playing pool. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Huntington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Winkler; two sisters, Glenda Carter and Geraldine Foster; sister-in-law Margo Winkler; stepson Mark Clay Jr.; fur animals, Ditto, Izzy, and Rusty.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Winkler; son, Chris Winkler; daughter, Brittany Winkler with grandchildren, Austin and Brooklyn; two stepdaughters, Sherri and Mark Hanks and Priscilla and Mike Whitmore; two brothers, Floyd Winkler and Joe and Bev Winkler; three sisters, Elizabeth and Dave Ellis, Gracie and Eugene Corns, and Geri and Bill Williams; two sister-in-laws, Brenda Schroder and Charlotte Lowe; father-in-law, Leroy Rood. Special shoutout to aunt, Alice Kipp, caregiver, Joan Barker, lots of loved nieces, nephews, and step grandchildren, and his beloved dog, Shorty.
Pallbearers include Austin, Chris, Tommy, Chase, and Davon. Services will be held at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville, Ohio on Tuesday, June 16th. Viewing at 12 pm, funeral at 1 pm, and burial services at White Chapel at 2pm. He will have full burial military honors and gun salute.
