Paula Lynn Perry's Obituary
Paula Lynn Perry, born October 5, 1949 in Poland, Ohio, passed into the hands of the Lord at home on Monday evening, June 2, 2025. Beloved daughter of Raymond Wakefield and Rosemare (Kerr) Wakefield. Paula married Charles E. Perry at 19 years old in December of 1968. Paula and Charlie resided in multiple places including Niles, Ohio; Fayetteville, North Carolina; Key West, Florida; Bad Tölz, Germany; Madison, Wisconsin; Monterey, California; and (again) Fayetteville, North Carolina before settling in the village of Crown City, Ohio in August of 1997. Paula is survived by her loving husband Charlie, son Christopher (and wife Shannon), three grandchildren- Charles Christopher Perry, Hope Perry, and Danielle (Perry) Daugherty (and husband Jason), two great granddaughters– Mariea and Riley Daugherty, older sister Pam McCormick, and niece Lisa Nuti. Paula’s education included a Bachelor Degree at Youngstown State and Florida International University. She then earned her teaching degree at University of North Carolina at Pembroke in History and Art History. Additionally, she attended Marshall University and earned her Master Degree in Art History. Paula was an Adjunct Professor at Marshall University and Shawnee State University as an Art and Art History Professor. Paula was eager to learn new things and take classes. She was passionate about art and how colors blend together to create something beautiful. Paula was an accomplished artist with her favorite mediums being pastel and oil paints. Additionally, Paula loved to garden and raise flowers. She adored her pets, and had a great love for swimming and sunning on the beach. Funeral services will be held at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio, on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 5:00 P.M. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at 4:00 P.M. Then family and friends will gather again to remember Paula on Monday, June 9, 2025 from 1-2pm with a Funeral Service at 2:00 P.M. at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, Ohio. Paula will then be laid to rest beside her mother at Riverside Cemetery in Poland, Ohio. Paula was loved and will be missed.
