Phillip Rodney Watkins' Obituary
Phillip Rodney Watkins, 68, of South Point, Ohio, left this life to be with his heavenly father on Saturday February 3, 2018 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born August 9, 1949 son of the late Walter and Mary Watkins. He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Rebecca "Becky" Watkins; brother, Bert (Sue) Watkins of Lesage, WV; sisters Nancy Swann of Proctorville, Ohio and Margaret (Don) Layman of Proctorville, Ohio; special friend whom he loved like a daughter, Bethany Whittington; brother-in-law Bob (Sue) Roberts of Goodyear, AZ; loving nephews Robert (Jill) Swann of St. Mary's, GA, and Brad Layman of Proctorville, Ohio; loving nieces Andrea Watkins of Lesage, WV, Lori (Tim) Blake of Proctorville, Ohio; great nephews Travis Swann of St. Mary's, GA, Tyler and Jacob Blake of Holden Beach, NC; great niece Brittany Swann of Marietta, GA; and uncle Henry Nathan Watkins. He retired from Mutual Wholesalers Inc. with 32 years and was an active member of Sybene Missionary Baptist Church. He will be missed by family and numerous friends but never forgotten. He knew no stranger and was a friend to all and loved serving the Lord witnessing to all. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday February 9, 2018 at Sybene Missionary Baptist Church South Point, Ohio with D.L. Webb officiating, who was not only his pastor but a good friend. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 5 to7 p.m. Thursday February 8, 2018 at Sybene Missionary Baptist Church.
